Moments from a Quiet Day
May. 25th, 2008 12:14 amToday was quiet. I spent a good bit of time boning up my new set of stays (surprisingly tedious) to the ongoing roar of motorcycles. We live near a major highway and the sound of Memorial Day weekend here is dominated by Rolling Thunder.
Costume-wise, my progress was slow.
As I finished up the boning operation and started tipping the metal bones, I got bored of the stays, so too many moments were passed watching Youtube videos and just surfing the internet. I started sorting through the stash and working out a gameplan for my pink pirate dress. I'm thinking of a 17th century look like the plum dress in Pirates of the Caribbean. However, my fabric limitations will force that to be merely inspirational.
It is a work weekend, so some time was spent organizing for the local town festival here tomorrow and Monday.
Finally, I just snoozed in the sun, listening to the lazy buzz of Harleys.
Not a bad day at all.
